The new and improved Glycogenics™ is an advanced homocysteine/balanced
B-complex formula that features 5-formyl tetrahydrofolate (calcium folinate),
a special form of folic acid, for greater bioavailability. This new formula also
delivers dramatically higher levels of vitamin B12 and
is now vegetarian compatible.
The B vitamins are vital to human nutrition. They serve as coenzymes
for the hundreds of metabolic reactions required for optimal health and physical function. They are essential for
normal growth and development, energy production, a healthy stress response, hormone balance, and homocysteine
metabolism. Homocysteine is one of the key indicators of cardiovascular health and cognitive function, as well
as other emerging influences.
Diet can have a major impact on the metabolism of homocysteine and providing
generous amounts of certain key nutrients can actually help maintain healthy
homocysteine levels. Dietary folic acid and vitamin B12 play an important role
since methylfolate, a metabolite of folic acid, is a direct source of methyl
groups for the regeneration of methionine from homocysteine. Glycogenics™ provides folate in amore bioavailable
form, as 5-formyl tetrahydrofolate (calcium folinate), which can be more readily metabolized even by those with
defects in one or more of the key enzymes that convert folic acid to the active metabolite, 5-methyl tetrahydrofolate
(5-THF).
